<description>More than two weeks since the Rapid Support Forces seized the city of el-Fasher, survivors recount a long and dangerous journey to reach safety. “They threatened me while I was carrying my daughter on my back. They ordered me to put her down and started whipping me,” recounts Fatima, whose name has been changed for her safety. “They kept beating me as I begged them to let me go.” Since the RSF captured el-Fasher on 26 October, reports of mass killings, ethnic violence and sexual assault have emerged. Some 82,000 people are estimated to have fled the city, but as many as 200,000 people are believed to be trapped in the city. Support stories that matter.
