The British empire unleashed incredible violence against civilians in Kenya, India, Malaysia, Nigeria, Egypt... as it desperately tried to hold onto its crumbling empire. France too hit it’s most violent period as it lost control of Vietnam, Algeria, Syria, and Burkina Faso... So did the Netherlands in Indonesia, as the independence movement grew. Furious and indiscriminate violence against civilians and freedom movements, is a hallmark of empires in decline. The US empire is the most powerful empire in history, and it is now in steep and rapid decline. The next decade will likely be the most violent period any of us will ever live through. But no amount of bombs or killing will save the US empire, because the collapse isn't caused by an external threat, it comes from the internal rot of corruption at the heart of the empire. Every empire inevitably succumbs to the rot of its own soul, and the US empire, having now cannibalised every part of its own society to feed the insatiable maw of capitalist profit growth... is no exception.
