Trump offered condolences after the attack at Bondi Beach killed at least 11 people, and also highlighted the courage of a Muslim bystander who confronted the gunman and stopped further harm. The unarmed man was seen charging the attacker from behind, grappling with him and wrestling a rifle from his hands, before being shot by another gunman. The 43-year-old fruit shop owner remains in hospital with serious injuries, with authorities and witnesses crediting his actions with preventing an even greater loss of life.
