Mohammadi, whose full name was not given, expressed hope that negotiations would succeed, saying pressure from neighbouring countries could help prevent conflict. "We hope there will be no war," he said, adding that if fighting breaks out, "it will bring nothing good for the people". Another Tehran resident highlighted Israel's role in the talks, saying it remained a major obstacle to progress. "Israel is preventing the negotiations from coming to fruition," said Mohsen Abbasi. The US and Iran talks are aimed at resolving their long-running nuclear dispute, with little indication of compromise as Washington amasses a battle force in the region.
