A chilling truth often omitted from Western textbooks is that the Hlocaust was not Germany’s first gnocide. In a painful reminder from historian Dr. Andre P. White (Dr. Andre 3001), the host of “Redacted History”, the blueprint for industrial mass murder in N*zi Germany was drafted in the deserts of South West Africa. Following the 1884 Berlin Conference, where 14 nations carved up Africa without a single African present, Germany claimed South West Africa (modern-day Namibia), which had been inhabited by the Herero and Nama groups. But when the Herero people rose up in 1904 to defend their stolen lands, the German military responded with a ruthless "Execution Order". The command was absolute: every Herero found within the new European-defined borders – armed or unarmed – would be shot. The survivors of the initial massacres were pushed into the desert to die of thirst or herded into brutal concentration camps. Here, the parallels to N*zi Germany become undeniable. There was forced labour and starvation, as prisoners were worked to death and subjected to systematic sexual violence. There also were medical experiments, as German doctors conducted pseudo-scientific experiments on the bodies of the victims to "prove" racial inferiority. Indeed, those experiments directly informed the racist ideologies and medical tortures later used by the Nazis. Figures like Eugen Fischer, who carried out experiments in Southwest Africa, later taught Nazi physicians who would manage the H*locaust. Germany did not formally acknowledge its atrocities in Southwest Africa as g*nocide until 2021. For over a century, the victims were redacted from history to protect the image of European ‘civilisation’.
