Mahmoud Al-Golani, a child from the family, took part in the process as the family dismantled their home under the threat of a financial penalty of 220,000 shekels if they failed to comply. The house was demolished on the grounds that it lacked an Israeli-issued building permit, which Palestinian residents say is extremely difficult to obtain due to restrictive planning policies.
