<description>China's 3D-printed minimalist turbojet engine completed its first single-engine flight test, marking a significant breakthrough in the engineering use of 3D-printed engines, CMG learned on November 13, 2025. The turbojet engine was independently developed by the Aero Engine Corporation of China (AECC). The flight test lasted 30 minutes, reached an altitude of 6,000 meters, and achieved a maximum speed of Mach 0.75. The test demonstrates the engine's improved reliability at higher altitudes and in more complex environments, while verifying its compatibility with the aircraft. According to the engine's developer, it provides a new power solution for platforms such as loitering munitions, drones, and target aircraft. More than three-quarters of the engine's total weight comes from 3D-printed components, significantly reducing the number of parts and achieving lightweight, high-performance design goals, laying a solid foundation for future flights at higher altitudes and speeds.
