<description>In this episode we'll welcome two members of the Palestinian Youth Movement ("PYM") to discuss the life, legacy, and thought of Palestinian martyr Walid Daqqa. We will use Kaleem's recent essay "Like a Bag Trying to Empty" to ground our discussion. They will also share some updates and analysis from PYM on how we collectively resist 11 months into this genocidal war on Palestinian life. Kaleem Hawa is a Palestinian writer and organizer with the Palestinian Youth Movement. His essay "Like a Bag Trying to Empty" on Walid Daqqa's life and thought was published in Parapraxis Magazine: https://www.parapraxismagazine.com/articles/like-a-bag-trying-to-empty Jeanine Hourani is an organizer with the Palestinian Youth Movement and a PhD candidate in Middle East Politics at the University of Exeter The Palestinian Youth Movement is a transnational, independent, grassroots movement of young Palestinians in Palestine and in exile worldwide as a result of the ongoing Zionist colonization and occupation of our homeland. Our belonging to Palestine and our aspirations for justice and liberation motivate us to assume an active role as a young generation in our national struggle for the liberation of our homeland and people. Irrespective of our different political, cultural and social backgrounds, we strive to revive a tradition of pluralistic commitment toward our cause to ensure a better future, characterized by freedom and justice on a social and political level, for ourselves and subsequent generations.
