On this day, 61 years ago, the US imposed a total blockade on Cuba. In Havana, we asked Cubans what it's like to live under the blockade, and how they imagine their country would be without it. The blockade came into force in 1962, imposed by former president J.F. Kennedy, under the Trading With the Enemy Act of 1917, which authorizes the US President to impose economic sanctions on “enemy” countries. Cuba is the only country against which this old law is still applied. Cuba affirms that the island will continue to resist the blockade. Last year, the country’s President Diaz Canel said in reaction to Biden's decision to maintain the blockade for 60th year in a row: “the crime has lasted too long, but the Cuban Revolution will survive it.” #cuba #blockade #news #youtubeshorts #shortsfeed #shorts ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVA8mapwV58
