Speaking to Meem Magazine, Mohammed al-Ghaban, the grandfather of the child, stated that his grandson was already ill. He explained that the lack of essential supplies, such as food and water, “affected him badly.” On Tuesday, the Palestinian health ministry reported that fifteen Palestinians died from malnutrition under the Israeli-imposed famine in Gaza in the past 24 hours. The ministry also added that the latest deaths bring Gaza’s starvation toll to at least 101 Palestinians, including 80 children. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (Unrwa) recently warned that child malnutrition has worsened, especially among children under five. Between March and June 2025, Unrwa’s clinics conducted nearly 74,000 screenings, identifying around 5,500 cases of moderate acute malnutrition and over 800 cases of severe acute malnutrition.
