On the outside of the mosque, the attackers spray-painted racist slogans in Hebrew, including one calling the Prophet Muhammad “a pig”. “The attacks are not new, but they have never been like this or reached this deep inside the village,” says the mosque’s Imam, Ahmad Salma, who alerted the Civil Defense when he saw a fire inside the mosque at dawn on Thursday. Settler and Israeli army attacks against Palestinians and their property have been on the rise since October 2023. Last month alone, at least 2,350 attacks were recorded. Support stories that matter.
