The politics, economy and culture of the era were inherited from and modeled on the Central Plains dynasties, particularly evident in their burial systems. The Xixia Imperial Tombs, located in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region of northwest China, form a necropolis of the Xixia Dynasty, built between the 11th and 13th centuries.
