Lazzarini says that previously under the UN humanitarian relief distribution process, assistance was provided to Palestinians “where they are”. Under the new US-Israeli-led process, Palestinians will be forced to go to “four different locations”, forcing people to move and “to regroup around this distribution cluster”. Lazzarini says this system is intended to be an “instrument of a forced displacement of the population”. The scheme will only deliver aid to pre-screened Palestinians in the south of Gaza. Lazzarini says this will not only discriminate against those who do not pass the vetting but will also mean those injured or and unable to walk to the distribution centres will not receive assistance.
