The Al-Arees factory was damaged during the war, with machinery, buildings and electrical lines hit, forcing production to halt entirely. Following the ceasefire, workers repaired what they could and restarted operations, but output remains severely limited. The factory now operates only three to five days a month because of fuel shortages, high costs and restricted electricity supply, producing a small fraction of its previous output. Its workforce has been cut from 200 to 300 workers down to just 70, illustrating how Israel’s genocide continues to cripple industry and livelihoods across Gaza. Support stories that matter.
