For every one of Bovino’s assertions, there’s a growing amount of first-hand video and eyewitness accounts that point to the total opposite. Bovino claims that Pretti approached law enforcement with a weapon. In fact, he appears to be filming on his phone and MPD has confirmed Alex Pretti was licensed to own and carry a gun. There is no footage showing him pulling it on law enforcement during the encounter. On the contrary, multiple videos, including a freeze-frame analysis of the one BT first posted this morning, show an agent appearing to remove the firearm from Alex Pretti’s holster before the first shot from CBP. With more information still coming out, BT journalists remain in Minnesota and will continue to ensure the facts of this story are not distorted.
