The term refers to women forced into sexual slavery by Japanese troops during World War Two. The museum, established in 2016, features over 5,000 oral-history records, photographs, film footage, books and more than 700 artifacts. These constitute evidence of the crimes committed under Japanese militarist colonial rule in Taiwan region – crimes against humanity that clearly show Japan bears historical responsibility toward the Chinese people.
