Reading out a letter from a colleague in al-Shifa Hospital, Rose described Gaza as becoming like a 'ghost city... like the soul leaving the body'. Denouncing the Israeli government as killing in Gaza, the West Bank, Yemen, Qatar, Syria and Lebanon, Abu-Sitta called for sanctions as the only way to stop the war machine. Both Rose and Abu-Sitta have worked in Gaza’s hospitals during Israeli bombardment, documenting the collapse of its health system and the toll on civilians.
