We all relied on him because he was a very brave and strong person. He sacrificed and gave his blood for this village,” says one resident. Al-Rahi died of wounds he sustained from Israeli tank fire on a house near the site of an Israeli strike where the priest had rushed to assist the wounded. Since 2 March, Israeli strikes on Lebanon have killed at least 570 people and injured more than 1,300 others.
