The NC Department of Transportation's $3.2 billion plan to add four new toll lanes to I-77 is set to displace hundreds of people living in historically Black neighborhoods. The expansion demolition zone also includes Pineville Cemetery, where past generations of families in these neighborhoods have been buried. This will have devastating effects on these communities, many of whom have lived there for almost half a century. We call on all community members to join the fight against this highway expansion.
