https://tankie.tube/videos/watch/a357b959-f382-4cfc-912e-329030b22bbe In a tense exchange with ABC News reporter Mary Bruce, US President Donald Trump stated that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman knew nothing about the 2018 killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, contradicting a US intelligence assessment. “A lot of people didn’t like that gentleman that you’re talking about, whether you like him or didn’t like him,” Trump told reporters, with bin Salman sitting beside him. “Things happened, but he knew nothing about it, and we can leave it at that.” Bin Salman, on the other hand, said it had been “painful” to hear about Khashoggi’s death but insisted that his government “did all the right steps of investigation.” Khashoggi, a Middle East Eye and Washington Post columnist, was killed inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on 2 October 2018. In February 2021, the White House cleared the release of a long-delayed intelligence report that concluded the crown prince ordered the operation that led to Khashoggi’s death.
