Liam Og O hAnnaidh, a member of the Irish rap group Kneecap, was granted unconditional bail after appearing in Westminster Magistrates Court on June 18 for a preliminary hearing regarding his charges under the Terrorism Act. The Irish rapper, also known by his stage name, Mo Chara, was charged in May following an incident in which he is alleged to have held a Hezbollah flag during a concert at the O2 Forum in Kentish Town in November 2024. Hezbollah is a proscribed organisation in UK law, meaning expressing support for it is illegal. No plea was heard during the hearing due to a contestation from Og O hAnnaidh’s defence regarding a technicality surrounding the date charges were lodged.
