You guys have helped our family.” — Our first Community Spotlight Saturday is from Tiaja Kings, a North City resident and survivor of the recent tornadoes. Three weeks ago, Fountain Park and surrounding neighborhoods in North City were devastated by a storm that tore through homes, lives, and the little security many had left. While the government has been largely silent, our people have not. Tiaja’s story is not unique. She, like so many others, has been forced to rely on community — not the state — for food, shelter, and care. Through collective action, grassroots support, and love, we’ve held each other through the grief and the wreckage. Thank you, Tiaja, for your voice, your strength, and your trust.
