Students on Monday protested the Canadian university’s ties to Israel after it waged a two-year-long genocidal war on Gaza. Lenton, who resigned in June this year and will leave her post before the end of the year, was leading the university as it called the police on peaceful pro-Palestinian protesters who had set up a Gaza solidarity encampment on campus in the summer of 2024.
