Jaber warned that Israel is now pushing controversial legislation in its parliament to introduce and fast‑track a death penalty regime that overwhelmingly targets Palestinians, a law that would remove safeguards, require mandatory executions, and bar prisoners from inclusion in any future exchange deals. Human rights organisations strongly condemn the bill for violating international law, institutionalising discrimination, and further entrenching violence against Palestinians.
