The move came just days after control of the terminals was taken from the company against its will. Last month, Panama's Supreme Court nullified the company's long-term contracts to operate the two key ports. CGTN stringer interviewed a local resident, Belisario, about his views on the forcible takeover. He described it as a potential risk, noting that China, as a major economic power, brings a large volume of container traffic through the ports, significantly contributing to Panama's economy.
