The EINSTEIN OF SEX is a musical performance-lecture; a new polemic about human sexuality, gender and how we deal with these concepts. The show moves freely between styles and genres, with richly dark humour and a formal  theatrical style to explore the nature of sexual intolerance and homophobia. The show also tells the story of sexologist/queer rights campaigner Magnus Hirschfeld (1868-1935) who founded ‘Institut für Sexualwissenschaft’ in Berlin in 1919 and was known in the US press as ”The Einstein of Sex”. The sexual atmosphere of Weimar Berlin is contrasted with present-day attitudes to sexuality and the visual language of the show draws on Hirschfeld’s rare, and bizarre collection of photographs and illustrations.
