They have fired ammunition and gas bombs into the campus of the university while the students were in a routine educational day at the university,” says the University’s President Talal Shahwan, adding that “this is not an isolated incident” as the university has witnessed repeated Israeli military incursions. Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that Israeli forces detained the University’s Vice President for Academic Affairs Assem Khalil and stormed several buildings and faculties.
