<description>US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth has drawn criticism after quoting a passage from the film Pulp Fiction that he appeared to present as a biblical reference during a Pentagon prayer service. Hegseth told his audience that he was  reminded him of a prayer shared by the head of a recent combat search and rescue (CSAR) mission to locate and recover Air Force crew members shot down in Iran. According to Hegseth, the prayer was titled “CSAR 2517” and was said to draw on wording from the biblical verse Ezekiel 25:17. However, the passage he recited closely matches, almost word-for-word, the fictional monologue delivered by Samuel L. Jackson’s character in Pulp Fiction, rather than the actual scripture.
