<description>"Some people have suggested that it's starting to behave like a rogue state." Lord Chris Patten, a senior British politician and former chair of the BBC, has said he is "surprised anyone can argue" that Israel’s actions in Gaza are not in breach of international law. Answering questions from British journalist Lewis Goodall on The News Agents podcast, he criticised Prime Minister Netanyahu’s push for a “one-state” solution that would leave Palestinians as second-class citizens. “I don't think it's antisemitic to criticise Netanyahu,” he said. “What is international law if it doesn’t include starving people into submission?” Patten, a member of the House of Lords and long-serving figure in UK public life, warned that Israel’s current path risks generating “future generations who hate Israel.” He also raised concerns of potentially being accused of anti-Semitism for honest criticism of Israeli policy.</description>
