Since late January 2025, Israeli forces have carried out the deadly “Operation Iron Wall” in the Nur Shams, Tulkarm and Jenin refugee camps in the occupied West Bank. Israel says the raids target resistance, but months on, they’ve destroyed homes and barred residents from returning, in violation of international law. The camps were set up in the 1950s to house Palestinians forcibly displaced in 1948 during the Nakba, or the Catastrophe, where 750,000 fled their homes after the state of Israel was created.
