This week, MEE broke an exclusive story about ICC chief prosecutor Karim Khan being threatened by his colleague, another ICC lawyer allegedly speaking on behalf of Israel’s government, to drop the arrest warrants against Israeli leaders or “they will destroy you and they will destroy the court”. It comes amid sweeping US sanctions imposed by the Trump Administration on Khan, as well as four ICC judges, with warnings that the court itself could be defunded and sanctioned.
