We were kettled in around 7:10 PM PST. We were not in the streets until they forced us there with their horses. That’s when they closed in on us from all corners. My camera captured several angles showing cops and sheriffs blocking us in. Stop telling us we could’ve left No we couldn’t. “Just say you did nothing wrong.” We said that. We communicated we were just trying to go home. Most of us had ID’s on us We were told to cooperate and informed we were all under arrest for Penal Code 409. We were not given any dispersal announcement. We were held in that blockade for an hour and arrested at 8 PM conveniently the DTLA curfew for certain areas. We were detained, bussed to south LA and held until they processed our information and issued us citations. I appreciate everyone checking in. This was small compared to what migrant families are going through. I hope you all continue to show up 🤍 Side note Stop telling people what they should have done when you weren’t there and have not found yourself in a situation like it. No one went anticipating to be arrested especially before the curfew and especially when there was NO violence. I’m open to hearing from those who have been in this situation, and to learning your best practices.
