The Bronx is ready for socialism

On January 10, English teacher and father of three Andre Easton hard-launched his campaign to represent New York’s 15th Congressional District alongside hundreds of Bronx residents ready for a whole new system. Let’s put this myth to rest. NY-15 isn’t the “poorest” congressional district. It’s the most exploited. The workers who generate wealth for the richest city in the richest country on Earth are forced to live in some of the worst conditions in the nation. That’s not poverty. That’s theft. It’s about time we take back our stolen wealth. What would the Bronx look like if we unleashed the resources of the richest city in the richest country on Earth to fully fund public housing and schools? How would people’s lives improve if they only had to pay 20% of their income on rent, and were paid at least $30 an hour to do work that built newer, greener infrastructure for all? How many additional years would be added to the lifespan of the average Bronx resident if everyone had access to healthy food and clean air?
