Along the streets of Al-Zawiya market in Gaza City, Ramadan decorations, food and drinks have sprawled up ahead of the start of the holy Muslim month. “The joy of Gaza is always somewhat incomplete, but that does not mean that the people of Gaza do not love to celebrate everything beautiful, because we deserve to live,” says another resident, Umm Ghassan al-Khalidi. Despite a ceasefire entering into effect last October, Israel has continued to bomb Gaza regularly, with strikes killing at least 10 Palestinians over the weekend.
