We also dig into an early essay of Dr. Horne's entitled "Rethinking the Lumpen: Gangsters and the Political Economy of Capitalism" from the journal Nature, Society, and Thought (1997), and discuss the role of the lumpen in contemporary American politics, specifically with regard to the recent RICO indictment of Donald Trump and co. in Fulton County, Georgia, charged with trying to overturn the results of the 2020 U.S. presidential election.
