His comments drew condemnations from the French Council of the Muslim Faith, who have called for an extensive and transparent investigation into his claims. “We wrote a report for the Israeli government, for the JPPI, and we sounded the alarm … We’ve had mass African and Muslim immigration, which will account for more than half of the French population by the end of this century,” said Long, warning against what he implied was the threat that rising numbers of Muslims in France posed to French Jews. “There are 150,000 people in danger, those who are in direct contact with Arab Muslim and Turkish populations, plus the Pakistanis, of course,” he added. Long said he worked on the report with Dov Maimon, a senior fellow at the Israeli think tank Jewish People Policy Institute (JPPI), who advises the Israeli government on its strategy toward Islam and the security of Jewish communities in Europe.
