Over the decades, Xizang has undergone remarkable transformation and seen the journeys of countless young Tibetans. At the 58th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, Sonam Drolma, a scholar from the China Tibetology Research Center, shared her personal experience growing up and studying at a boarding school in the Tibetan-inhabited areas of Sichuan Province. She offered a story to counter some Western false accusations and emphasized the region's educational progress and efforts in cultural preservation. #xizang #tibet #china In an interview with CGTN, Sonam Drolma said, "Boarding schools are, in my opinion, very well managed. I am a living example of that." She pointed out that many international guests recognize Xizang's success in various areas, such as poverty alleviation. High-level UN working groups have praised Xizang's accomplishments. "Some Western groups criticize us, yes, but we must stay focused and keep sharing our story. As scholars, our response should be through academic work," Drolma stated. She told CGTN's Mi Sutong that she studies Tibetan Buddhism, with focus on boarding schools and cultural preservation in Xizang.
