While Lula voters celebrate, the supporters of right-wing outgoing President Jair Bolsonaro are blocking roads across the country in an attempt to cause chaos and undermine the election. Bolosonaro remained silent on his defeat and the provocations until Tuesday when he agreed to a transition of power. Ana Júlia Guedes, lawyer and militant of Levante Popular da Juventude, discusses Lula’s victory and the people’s movement’s continued struggle against right-wing reactionary forces. After two years of war and horrendous atrocities, the Tigrayan People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) and Ethiopian government have reached a settlement, including that the TPLF will disarm within 30 days and the recognition that the government is legitimate. The TPLF has stolen huge amounts of aid for Ethiopia, broken two unilateral ceasefires, and attempted to divide and conquer using ethnic disputes in the region – all the while being supported by the United States. Hermela Aregawi, Ethiopian-American journalist of Tigrayan descent & organizer with #NoMore Movement, sheds light on what this settlement means now and in the coming days. The Supreme Court is continuing its evisceration of historic progressive social policies by preparing to abolish affirmative action. On Monday, the Supreme Court heard oral arguments in two cases seeking to end affirmative action in higher education by banning race as a factor for admission. The conservative super-majority of the court has strongly indicated that they will vote to overturn the key progressive policy. Editor-in-Chief of BreakThrough News, Ben Becker, explains the racist attack on affirmative action and the fight against the white-supremacist Supreme Court. Zimbabwe has been under US, UN & EU-imposed sanctions for over 21 years, making it one of the most sanctioned countries in the world. The sanctions target Zimbabwean industry, land reform, and production, seeking to delegitimize the government and cause civil unrest. Rutendo Matinyarare, Chairperson of Zimbabwe Anti-Sanctions Movement (ZASM), breaks down the devastating impacts. Mikhail Kononovich and his brother Aleksandr Kononovich have been imprisoned in Ukraine for over 7 months. The Ukrainian brothers are leaders of the Leninist Communist Youth Union of Ukraine (LKSMU) and were arrested & tortured by the Ukrainian security services for the “crime” of being Communists. Mayukh Biswas, General Secretary of Students' Federation of India discusses the upcoming International Week of Solidarity with the Kononovich Brothers, a campaign calling for the immediate and safe release of the brothers and an end to the political repression of the left in Ukraine. Biswas also discusses the relationship between India and the Russia-Ukraine conflict and how progressives around the world should view the intervention of the Indian government on the world stage. The M23 rebel group has been attacking and displacing residents of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) for a year now and is alleged to be supported by Rwanda. More than 355,000 Congolese have fled their homes in 2022 alone. Maurice Carney, co-founder and executive director of the Friends of the Congo, explains what’s going on and whether the US is implicated. ►Become a Patron: https://www.patreon.com/BreakThroughNews ►Tweet us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/BTnewsroom ►Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/btnewsroom/ ►Follow us on Telegram: https://t.me/btnewsroom ►Follow us on TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@btnewsroom #BreakThroughNews
