Organisers say around 9,100 Palestinians are currently detained, including 3,544 without charge, 400 children, 53 women and 16 doctors, while more than 300 are serving life sentences. The initiative highlights the stories of doctors, women and children through red ribbons, posters and videos shared across London and social media. The colour red was chosen to symbolise both the blood of Palestinians killed and the suffering in Israeli prisons. The campaign comes as the Knesset voted on Monday in favour of a bill that would impose the death penalty on “terrorists,” the first of three votes required for it to become law.
