Hiram Rivera is an organizer and popular educator with 20 years experience working on issues of education justice, carceral abolition and political prisoners. He's led local and statewide campaigns in his native New Haven, CT, New York City, and Philadelphia, PA. Hiram has been an organizing trainer for the past 7 years with the School Of Unity & Liberation (SOUL) in Oakland and the George Jackson Organizing School which he co-founded in 2023. He's the former executive director of the Philadelphia Student Union, co-founder of the organization Black Men Build, and currently serves as the founding director of the Community Resource Hub- a national organization providing research, training and technical assistance to groups across the country running Defund and police abolition campaigns.
