Is it compulsory to stand for the national anthem in movie theatres? [Footage]

I’ve always wondered why the national anthem is played in theatres at all. A cinema hall is a space people visit purely for entertainment, after paying for a ticket. There’s no real link between watching a movie and expressing patriotism through the anthem. We don’t play the national anthem at private or social occasions like weddings, birthdays, or even during religious gatherings. So why is a theatre treated differently? If it’s considered appropriate there, then shouldn’t it logically be played in every public and social space like offices, temples, parks, cafes, parties, and so on? Forcing people to stand in a theatre doesn’t automatically build patriotism or civic responsibility. Being a good citizen is reflected in daily behavior respecting others, following rules, and contributing positively to society—not in compulsory symbolic acts. Why do we spend so much energy debating these gestures instead of focusing on issues that actually improve our society?
