Speaking to Middle East Eye, doctor Nada explains that patients are fleeing to the south despite the dangers over there. She explains that doctors are struggling under Israel’s blockade and that there is only one operating theatre functioning at the hospital. In August, Israel launched an operation aiming at the complete occupation of Gaza City, forcing thousands to flee, while almost one million Palestinians remain trapped under relentless bombardment. A total of 65,419 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, mostly children and women, by Israeli forces since October 2023, and at least 167,160 others have been wounded. Thousands of others remain unaccounted for under the rubble, making the actual death toll likely to be much higher.
