She earned her BA in Africana Studies from San Francisco State University and is now in her second year of graduate studies in the Women’s, Gender &amp; Sexuality Studies Department at Georgia State University. = Thandisizwe Chimurenga is a New Afrikan revolutionary nationalist, a longtime activist and independent grassroots journalist based in South Central Los Angeles, CA. She is the creator, host and producer of “Rootwork: Getting Down to the Roots,” a broadcast of Interviews, News and Analysis of people, ideas, concepts and events that aim to dig deeper than mainstream colonial media, currently airing on KPFK 90.7 FM (Pacifica-Los Angeles) and the Black Liberation Media platform. A co-founder of Black August Los Angeles and a member of the editorial committee of the ReBuild Collective, Chimurenga is also the author of No Doubt: The Murder(s) of Oscar Grant; Reparations ... Not Yet: Reparations and Why We Must Wait; Some Of Us Are Brave: Interviews and Conversations with Sistas on Life, Art and Struggle,  and the co-author of What We Stood For: The Story of a Revolutionary Black Woman with Deborah Jones.
