“I don’t care whether [Anas] al-Sharif was in Hamas or not. We don’t kill journalists for being Republicans or Democrats or, in Britain, Labour Party.” In an interview with CNN, Ian Williams, president of the Foreign Press Association, condemned Israel for the deliberate killing of journalists in Gaza and expressed scepticism about the credibility of any statements made by the Israeli government regarding the incident. Williams highlighted that Palestinian journalists in Gaza should be trusted regarding their reporting of Israel’s war on the besieged strip, adding that “they’ve documented the ongoing massacres, and the Israelis don’t like it.” Al-Sharif was one of six Palestinian journalists killed in a direct and deliberate Israeli strike on their media tent beside Gaza City’s al-Shifa hospital on Sunday.
