It has been described as the most anti-American film ever made. You have a fascist American superhero whose outfit is a football uniform. His gang of fellow fascist superheroes (which includes an elderly Nazi war criminal and a KKK member adorned in pink) loot, rape, terrorize, and shoot at random. They’re trying to prevent a Communist takeover of France, and in true American fashion, celebrate at destroying over half the country. The US embassy is a supermarket. The satire is as subtle as a sledgehammer, but it is fucking hilarious. It was made by William Klein, who also took part in a documentary about supporting North Vietnam, to give you an idea of the man’s politics.
