In an interview with MEE Live, journalist and author Antony Loewenstein revealed how major tech giants, Amazon, Google, Microsoft and Palantir, have played a growing role in supporting Israel’s military operations, particularly since 7 October 2023. Drawing from his investigative work in The Palestine Laboratory and recent reporting, Loewenstein explained that these companies were already deeply involved with the Israeli military before the war, but their support intensified after the Hamas attack. He noted that Israel’s shift to widescale destruction required massive cloud infrastructure to process surveillance and targeting data, and Silicon Valley firms readily expanded their services. He emphasised that far from being neutral actors, big tech firms are now key enablers of what he described as a campaign of mass killing, facilitated through advanced tools and data systems embedded within the Israeli army.
