Her image has become testimony”, said Wesam Hamada, the mother of Hind Rajab, during a demonstration in Barcelona marking the second anniversary of her daughter’s murder by Israeli forces. Hind was a five-year-old girl from Gaza who was killed in January 2024 while her family was fleeing in their car to a safe zone. Forensic investigations later demonstrated Israeli tanks had fired over 300 rounds on the car alone. Hind’s voice, who was the last among her present family members to survive, was recorded in an emergency contact call with the Palestine Red Crescent Society, who sent an ambulance to rescue her. Israeli forces had then attacked the paramedics as well. The Barcelona demonstration sought to bring attention to the suffering of Palestinian children as Israel continues to restrict aid access to the Gaza strip.
