ESG, short for environmental, social and governance, is emerging as an important framework for assessing how companies respond to challenges such as climate change, safety, technological innovation and long-term responsibility. Several automakers at this year's show are showcasing their progress in emissions reduction and outlining their green transition strategies. In its latest ESG report, Geely Auto Group says it has achieved a 25.5% reduction in vehicle lifecycle carbon emissions compared with 2020 levels, meeting its target and exceeding it. The company has also reported progress in new energy vehicle sales, the use of renewable energy in manufacturing and developments in methanol technology, safety and data protection.
