During one of the holiest times for Muslims, Israel had closed Al Aqsa mosque to Muslim worshippers. For over 40 days, Palestinian worshippers were not allowed at one of Islam's holiest sites. Israel cited the war with Iran as posing security threats during religious gatherings, but it also allowed Jewish settlers to storm the compound - and elsewhere, Jewish gatherings were allowed to take place.
