Dozens of boats are expected to sail together in an attempt to break the blockade and deliver aid to Gaza. The flotilla brings together organisers and participants from more than 40 countries, with the aim of breaking what they describe as Israel’s illegal siege and helping to open a humanitarian corridor. It is set to be the largest maritime civilian mission since Israel’s siege of the Gaza Strip began in 2007.
